Have Conversations with all Participants
Once you know each participant‘s role you will want to make sure that they not only share the same understanding of their role but also the overall purpose of the workshop.
And, a pre-workshop call gives you the opportunity to discuss sensitive topics and potential “people-issues” off-record. If you perceive hidden agendas or unstated objectives amongst the participants, the pre-workshop conversation is the perfect opportunity for clarification.
Most importantly, the briefing allows you to jump right into the topic on the workshop day. Otherwise, you may lose time while clarifying the purpose and explaining your expectations.
